We all know that Mumbai may not be too well knows for its food apart from the street side, but if you know the right places, Mumbai has a lot to offer. On our recent trip to Mumbai, we Do Musafir, tried to make the most of it. While traveling, food becomes one of the most important factors and especially for foodies like us, apart from exploring new places, hunting down food joints is always on our list. Here is a look at some of the hubs that have loads of options when it comes to places to eat and we are also mentioning our top picks of the area
Colaba– Oh how much we love this place, for its old world charm, posh restaurants, Irani cafes and much more. We highly recommend Bade Miyan and Bagdadi for its rustic charm and delicious kebabs, and Cafe Mondegar for some great craft beers and continental food. Even Colaba Social makes for a great visit. Don’t forget to check out Britania & Co. for its famous Berry Pulao and other Parsi delicacies.
Muhammad Ali Road– This place is a delight, especially if you visit it during Ramzan, but even otherwise somethings are definitely not to be missed. Sanju Baba Chicken at Noor Mohammadi Hotel and Malpuas at Tawakkal Sweets
Juhu– When it comes to street food, go to Chowpatty and find Siddhivinayak for the most amazing Pao Bhaji and Tawa Pulao. The entire stretch near Mithibai College offers delicious Vada Pavs and Dosas and you cant afford to miss them. Gada-Da-Vida at Novotel Juhu offers a perfect ambience for a chilled out evening with friends or a romantic date with your loved one. Mahesh Lunch Home is an old favourite for sea food lovers and the newly renovated Razzberry Rhinoceros is another great place to chill out.
Bandra– Bandra is full of options when it comes to eating out, it has a lot to offer in terms of different cuisines also. From Cafes, to Bars, to North Indian, Chinese, Continental, you name it and its there. Caravan Serai, Persian Darbar, Papa Pancho, Kofuku are definitely worth your visit. Gatway Taproom, Pa Pa Ya and O Pedro make for nice options at BKC.
Lower Parel– From Kamla Mills to Laksmi Estate, Lower Parel too is a great choice for digging into good food and drinks. Indigo Delicatessen, Farzi Cafe and British Brewing Company are some great choices.
Andheri– Gajalee, Hard Rock Cafe, Urban Tadka and The Little Door are amongst our favourites. The lanes of Andheri are always hustling and bustling with food lovers and it makes one of the most frequented places especially by the youngsters.
